Scouting needs adult volunteers. Fortunately, some adults need scouting!
Scouting changes young peoples lives, but it also changes the lives of our adult volunteers. You can ask any leader, and they will have a story of the experience of helping a young person to spend their first night in a tent or to crack an egg for the first time!
Volunteers in Scouting aren't all about the young people. My personal favourite volunteer is the lovely lady that keeps me full of tea and cake at the big events! Scouting needs managers, and treasurers, and planners, and organisers - just as much as it need people who can keep a room full of young people entertained!
Scouts provides excellent adult training for volunteers so you can hone those skills, and develop news ones that can help in all aspects of life. The amount of training depends on which roles you would like to take, but can be as little as a couple of hours! For further information please read this.
There is also an adventurous activity permit scheme. As an adult you will be able to train in activities such as archery, climbing, abseiling, power boating and caving in order to teach the young people. More information here
